Is the World’s “Fever” Really Breaking?

Pre-conference e-mail-attack threatens climate change agenda.

FOX NEWS

But shortly before his announcement, hackers broke into the servers at the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Great Britain and posted e-mails in which scientists dismissed climate change skeptics, expressed concern about the lack of evidence to prove the threat of global warming and even made one reference to a plan to “hide the decline” in temperatures.

  1. Robert,

Governor Palin’s e-mail being hacked was for no good reason whatsoever – and was done by a Democratic-Congressman’s son from the south, nonetheless.

She only had to be McCain’s pick for three minutes for that to happen.

Global Warming; now conveniently referred to as “Climate Change” has been shoved down our throats for years now, with no real evidence to support it. What evidence has been put forth, there have been many scientists who have contradicted it.

With that being said, clearly the hacking of one person’s e-mail – Sarah Palin is more of a lame personal attack.

The sad thing is, this reveals that billions of tax dollars have been spent on this phony cause.

Global Warming was merely an excuse for big Government politicians to get more control of our personal lives to tell us how much we can consume before we are taxed to death, and to pointlessly fund the stupidest Government jobs in American history.

While it’s not noble to hack e-mails, this was not a “personal attack” on some inasmuch as the hacking of Sarah Palin’s email was.

The sad thing is, the hacking in this case revealed major damage to the Climate Change movement whereas the hacking of Sarah Palin merely revealed that she was a saint and did nothing wrong.

  2. By the way, I would say this is the issue (Climate Change) that Obama should be persuading us to not “jump to conclusions” on before rushing to waste billions of dollars on it in lieu of Fort Hood where it was more-than-apparent what pushed Malik Hasan to take out 13 American soldiers and spray bullets into dozens more who happened to survive by the grace of God.

  3. If this attack had been of the personal nature that Palin’s hack was, I’d be right there with you, decrying the motion. As Steve pointed out, it wasn’t. This wasn’t personal; we’re talking about billions of dollars already spent, legislation already passed, and further initiatives by the United Nations to compel the civilized world to pay hundreds of billions to third-world countries for the supposed damage done to the environment by the CO2 released by our love for lots of electricity and our big, giant SUV’s.

There is a time and place for this sort of thing. Divulging personal information–especially when said information is in regards to a Vice Presidential candidate being protected by the Secret Service–is the crime.

  4. “Global Warming; now conveniently referred to as “Climate Change” has been shoved down our throats for years now, with no real evidence to support it”

Wow. Actually, there is no real evidence to suggest that it doesn’t exist. I know you people are incredibly averse to science, but science doesn’t lie, and neither does reality (although you’ve spent plenty of time outside that realm as well).

“What evidence has been put forth, there have been many scientists who have contradicted it.”

Many? I think there are 2,500 scientists who disagree with reality, but over 200,000 who are right. You have countless agencies from every country, including the IPCC, the EPA, NASA, et. al.

“The sad thing is, this reveals that billions of tax dollars have been spent on this phony cause.”

This doesn’t “reveal” anything. And what’s phony about it? You people (conservatives) have never used a single scientifically based argument to refute this – ever. All I hear are “it’s not real”, or “God wouldn’t let that happen”, or “it’s really cold here in Minnesota this winter, there’s no such thing as climate change”. I’ve gotta tell you, I’m convinced. You claim it’s phony because you desperately want to believe that it isn’t happening. Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. I should also point out the irony of billions of tax dollars going to support actual phony causes that you do support, like in Iraq.

“Global Warming was merely an excuse for big Government politicians to get more control of our personal lives to tell us how much we can consume before we are taxed to death, and to pointlessly fund the stupidest Government jobs in American history.”

That’s just…I’m stymied. I cannot accept that you actually believe that. So, it’s some globally concerted effort from all the world’s governments to try to control people’s lives? Why don’t you go ahead and tell me how the existence of this information has affected your life. Because I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that you’re far beyond cavalier on the subject, instead taking the Laura Ingraham approach, pointlessly flooring it on the freeway in her SUV just to be a bitch. It’s actually kind of laughable when I think about it, because science is like Kryptonite to conservatives, so for them to even attempt to use science to lend credence to an argument is priceless.

“The sad thing is, the hacking in this case revealed major damage to the Climate Change movement”

No it hasn’t, it’s merely given the lunatic right a reason to celebrate in the increasingly small circles that they already inhabit. Those emails didn’t contain one shred of evidence to refute the consensus that has stood for almost fifteen years. Didn’t you wonder why your little FOX “News” article didn’t bother to elaborate their position one iota? It’s precious though that all your hopes of refuting decades of research has been weighted in one email…

“By the way, I would say this is the issue (Climate Change) that Obama should be persuading us to not “jump to conclusions” on before rushing to waste billions of dollars on it in lieu of Fort Hood where it was more-than-apparent what pushed Malik Hasan to take out 13 American soldiers and spray bullets into dozens more who happened to survive by the grace of God.”

That’s just idiotic. We’ve has the same nugget of information since 1995. The only thing that has changed is that every year, science keeps backing our position, making the nugget of truth into a snowball of truth, barreling down a mountain.

I’ve had this debate so many times (once with a con who was actually smart), and it’s not something I look forward to having my fingers type again, but the only thing I’ve ever heard cons rely on is anecdotal nonsense. You people spend so much time and energy trying to refute the truth, politicizing yet another issue that never should have been, when that time could be spent trying to figure out how to be good stewards and leave something for future generations. Sadly, that’s not something that any conservative I know of has ever been interested in…

  5. “And what’s phony about it? You people (conservatives) have never used a single scientifically based argument to refute this – ever.”

    HORSE.SHIT.

The evidence has been offered many times, Robert. Did you know that the hottest year on record was actually 1932? Did you know that evidence shows that ice is growing where it’s supposed to and melting where it’s supposed to? Are you aware that there is NO EVIDENCE supporting the theory of global warming, no raw data on temperatures provided by Al Gore or his ilk to prove significant warming–in fact, the scientific data reveals that the planet moves in a cycle of warming and cooling, shifting back and forth every so often NATURALLY.

My parents’ generation freaked out about global COOLING. They were predicting the next ice age back then. As soon as you accused us of never, ever bringing any scientific evidence I completely wrote off the remainder of your comment.

  6. That’s funny, because the moment you claimed that no evidence supports the existence of climate change, I wrote off your comment in its entirety…

  7. “That’s funny, because the moment you claimed that no evidence supports the existence of climate change, I wrote off your comment in its entirety…”

That’s funny, because once Al Gore hopped in his private jet, I wrote off the “cause” in its entirety. Remember, back in the day when they called it “Global Warming?”

  8. “Remember, back in the day when they called it “Global Warming?”

Yeah, you mean back ten years ago, before we knew all the effects of this phenomenon? For the record, the only people still using the phrase global warming are detractors and some portions of the media. The scientific community, the ones that actually matter, have been rightfully calling it climate change for years.

And by the way, remember back in the day, when medicine was thought to be black magic, and astronomers were put to death for suggesting the earth was round? Yeah, that’s the company you’re in…
