More Fuel In The Fire

I inserted the above vid so you guys can remember Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).  She and Rep Charlie Rangel (D-NY) are the two latest poster-children of Democrat corruption in DC.  We’ve followed Rangel’s corruption lately, but Waters is next in line.

A second House Democrat, Rep. Maxine Waters of California, could face an ethics trial this fall, further complicating the election outlook for the party as it battles to retain its majority.People familiar with the investigation, who were not authorized to be quoted about charges before they are made public, say the allegations could be announced next week. The House ethics committee declined Friday to make any public statement on the matter.

Waters, 71, has been under investigation for a possible conflict of interest involving a bank that was seeking federal aid. Her husband owned stock in the bank and had served on its board……

Waters came under scrutiny after former Treasury Department officials said she helped arrange a meeting between regulators and executives at Boston-based OneUnited Bank without mentioning her husband’s financial ties to the institution.

Democrats mercilessly used US Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) and his scandal involving his pursuit of male Congressional pages as an issue in the 2006 Congressional elections.  Nevermind that Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) was chasing male aide ass.  That was glossed over, and he resigned.  Now Pelosi has Waters and Rangel. Nancy Pelosi swore that she would guide the most ethical congress in memory when she took over after those 2006 elections.  She was going to “drain the swamps.”  Yeah right!  There is so much ethically wrong about her boys and girls in Congress.  The question is – will the GOPers use this against her in the same manner that Foley was used against Republicans in 2006?

Congressional scandal has a major impact.  Rep. Dan Rostenkowsi (D-IL) and his bunch were riddled with scandal and were exposed.  That led to the 1994 GOP takeover in Congress.  Foley’s indiscretion coupled with Bush fatigue led to the Dem takeover in 2006.  Now we have the likes of Massa, Waters and Rangel (not to mention Sen. Roland Burris D-IL) on top of voter anger concerning Obama’s inept, criminal handling of this nation’s governance. This could be a tipping-point.

  1. Do any of you see a Repubican takover of Congress coming? I see gains but not a total take back. I hope I am wrong.

I should point out I live in CA. Congressional seats, state Assembly, and Senate seats rarely change party. The apportionment lines make sure that rarely happens.

If we do takeover the House then CA won’t put up much towards that. But we might get Barbara Boxer out.

  2. I kind of like Roland Burris. Not really, but it’s like watching a crazy reality show with him.

I mean, the man has already built his own tomb, complete with resume. And he named his kids Roland, Jr. and Rolanda. Even George Foreman let his daughters have their own names.

He’s so far gone in the crazy, all a person can do is laugh about it.

  3. I watched the video.

The government runs the Postal Service. We all know how that is working.

So, let’s let the government run the oil companies. Here is the future I see.

    10 Years Later:

Government: We have to shut down an oil refinery in Texas becuase it is too old. We have a new one in eastern Montana to take its place.

Texas Congressman: If you do that then my district will lose 5,000 jobs.

Government: I know but the refinery is old and costs too much to operate.

Texas Congressman: But I need those jobs to get re-elected.

    Government: O.K. you win.

    20 Years Later

Government: We must drill in (insert location) because we need the oil.

Environazi: That drilling will drive the black backed skipper hopper extinct.

Government: What does the black backed skipper hopper do? How does it support the ecosystem?

Environazi: Well it emerges once every ten years and must mate within 24 hours before it dies. Then its offspring burrow into the ground and live for 10 years before emerging.

Government: So that is all it does? Slither around in the ground for 10 years and then pop up to mate and die? Doesn’t it eat insects or kill gophers? How about other burrowing pests?

Envirnozazi: It doesn’t do any of that. But we can’t allow it to go extinct.

    Government: O.K. you win.

    100 Years from now:

“Mommy why is there a polar bear on our front lawn? We don’t live in Canada or Alaska?”

“Well son, we have polar bears running loose because the government thought it was better to protect them than us. Now get back inside the cave!!!”

    1 Hour Later

“Mommy, tell me how it used to be before it all fell apart. My friends think you are telling lies about how it used to be. They say it is all conservative mythology.”

  4. Let’s not forget that the Ethics Committee is equally split between Dems and the GOP. So, any cries of racism are stupid. You can throw ex-Rep.William Jefferson (D-LA) in there too. He lost his seat to a Republican after he was basically abandoned by Pelosi et al. Later, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for corruption.
If there is a conspiracy against black Congressmen, it’s no fault of the GOP. The GOP hasn’t controlled the House since 2006. This is all happening under Pelosi’s watch.
